Rescheduled: Port of Long Beach Workforce Development & Education Workshop Series
The Port of Long Beach is hosting a series of virtual workshops showcasing the zero-emission technology workforce assessment and program development underway in partnership with Long Beach Community College, and the Academy of Global Logistics program partnership with Long Beach Unified School District. Together, these programs pave the way in training the next generation for work in the goods movement sector as it transitions to zero emissions.
These workshops are presented by the Port of Long Beach and its partners at the Ports of Oakland and Stockton. The California Air Resource Board awarded these ports a $50 million grant to deploy over 100 pieces of zero- and near-zero emission equipment across the three ports. The Zero and Near-Zero Freight Facilities (ZANZEFF) grant is part of California Climate Investments, a statewide initiative that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment — particularly in disadvantaged communities.
We invite you to attend any or all of the workshops in this series. If you have any questions about this series, please contact Leela Rao at [email protected]. We hope to see you soon!
